Quality of Life: Maryland is a Great Place for Every Interest

I've ended up with Saturday unscheduled. That is so very rare and I plan to relish it completely. But, I'm divided and cannot decide what I will do. Why? There are just too many things to do this weekend that I would LOVE to do; but I cannot be in every place at one time.

Maryland and surrounding metropolitan Washington DC are chock full of fun for every taste -- beaches, mountains, museums, shopping, embassies, hiking, biking, fishing, sailing, boating, digging, learning, dancing, flying, culture, city, small towns! When a friend of mine (you know who you are) said to me one day, "what can you do around here that doesn't cost a lot of money or involve going to the pubs to drink?" I didn't pull out my calendar at the time (I so should have, though!). But, I began to think about how many times people sit around the house and try to think up things to do, whether on a budget or not.

I am always looking for great things to do (and free things to do is always f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s!). I believe that life is too short to sit around thinking about doing something and then regretting the time I didn't. That's why I am looking at today's calendar and shaking my head: too many fun things to do.

I know that I have a training run early, followed by yoga in the morning that I won't miss. Then, I have to decide what I want to pick up at the farmer's market. Lots of something yummy. But, then I see the confusion and conflict--London Town historical dig or Native American Plant Gardens? Oh wait! What about Canoe in the Wild? Decisions. Decisions. What's a fun-loving gal to do?

The rest of the day is just as conflicted. Plays. Outdoor Festivals. Outdoor Movies. Outdoor Concerts. Well, I suppose that I'll grab my ready-for-anything-I-want-to-do man and we'll just spontaneously find ourselves up to something!

I hope that you take advantage of everything that your community has to offer. And, if you happen to be in the area and want something to do, check out my online calendar.

Celebrate life by living it to the fullest! Cheers!
